Grand Am Girl Blooper

It’s been a lot of fun playing music again with Brian McCarty.  Brian and I used to play in The Salt Miners a number of years ago.

One of my songs we used to play in that band was called Grand Am Girl which was a corny but rockin’ song written back in my single days about me noticing an attractive girl driving a Pontiac Grand Am GT.

When we used to play this song in The Salt Miners, there was a part towards the end where I would sing “Grand Am Girl you’re so glamourous”.  And right after that we would all pause and Mark Paul would do a finger pop.  Recently Brian and I played at The Painted Lady Lounge in Hamtramck.  We were playing Grand Am Girl and and it came upon the part to do the finger pop.  So I sang, “Grand Am Girl you’re so glamourous”, and Brian went to do the finger pop, but things didn’t go as planned.  But we both started cracking up and then like the troopers we are, redid that part of that song, nailing it and the rest of the song.

Had a great time at The Painted Lady that night along with The Velvet Boys.  Thanks again to Stacey, Andy and everyone else there for having us and to everyone that came out.
